A LONG Time Coming---NEW HOUSE

We moved into our new house on May first and I am just the slowest blogger in the world. I did not want to put pictures up until we got done painting but as you all know painting just takes so much time!!! We got the main living space done and now Skyler needs a break. He actually took these pictures to send to his brother Ethan on his mission...so it is thanks to Skyler that I am even getting this done now. We love having a house and it has been great!!

Skyler has as much fun as Sydney does!!!

There are other rooms in the house including an office, 3 bathrooms, the master bedroom, and two other bedrooms but they are either empty of full of boxes so I did not want to post pictures of them. The only picture Skyler did not take was the view from our front porch....which is my favorite. The whole valley is laid out in front of us. It is really great. The big downside is the our acre lot is MOSTLY unfinished and every time I think about working on it I panic...hopefully it will get done sometime...slowly!!

Hill Air Force Base

On May 11 my family went to Hill Air Force Base Plane Museum for a joint birthday party for my two nephews. If anyone you haven't been and are close enough to go it was a fun time. Here are some favorite pictures from that trip. This was the first day I put Sydney's hair to two pigtails. It is so cute even though it kind of fell out after half of the day, little girls are hard on cute hair styles!!

 

 I have to explain the next two pictures. While walking around I said to Skyler that they need to have a M*A*S*H* sign pole and we went around a corner and there it was. I got Skyler the whole series of M*A*S*H* for our first Christmas together and it was one of our favorite things to watch while we were in Pocatello and did not have TV. So M*A*S*H* is kind of special to us.

Sydney's First Birthday

Let's just say that Sydney's 1st birthday did not turn out like I thought to would, I guess that was my first lesson that nothing with kids turn out as perfect as you envision it.  Firstly, I am too self critical. I wanted to make her cake and Skyler even got me cake decorating stuff for Christmas a while ago and I was sure I could make something that I would love. NO WAY!! Still looking at her cake pictures make me crazy. Also decorating a cake with a crying one year old at your feet isn't very fun either. Next time I will have to try it while she is napping or out with Skyler.

Next Sydney's birthday was on a Tuesday, which means a work day for me and an early morning for Sydney. We had to leave our house at 6 AM to get her to Grandma Kofoed's by 6:30 so I could be to work by 6:40. So by the time we got home, decorated the cake, waited for dad to get home, and had dinner it was close to 7 PM...and Sydney was tired. Also to make matter's worse, even though Sydney knows and understands hot and how to blow on things she decided to reach out and touch her candle.

She liked the cake but never really got happy again until the next morning. Because of the move I still don't have a picture of all of her gifts but she did get some fun things.

The Internet is Back

When I started this blog I did not know that we would be moving in one short month and that I would not have internet at my new house for the whole next month. So now that I have the internet again I am going to try and catch up on the fun things we have been doing in the last two months...so stay tuned!!! It may take me a couple of days because Sydney wants to watch movies of herself on the computer anytime it is on and gets really mad when you won't let her...I love that little girl!!!

Spring and Easter

Skyler has been encouraging "Miranda Writes" as the title of my blog for along time and without any better ideas I gave into him. He has always thought that it was a funny play on my name, even before we were married. I do have a feeling that this will end up being a picture fest of my cute baby but I can't help it...she is too cute. I hope that it will help keep friends and family up to date with what is going on with us.

I know we are past the snow but to celebrate spring here are just a couple of pictures of Sydney in the aftermath of one a the few snow storms we had.

Easter also came and went. Sydney did not understand Easter Egg hunts but really enjoyed the grass in the basket. Buying Easter dresses may be one of my downfalls it is so fun to have a girl to dress up.

Just Letting It Be

I have been debating about starting a blog for a long time and just haven't done it. I always start and the page doesn't look perfect and I end up just deleting it...so this time I am going to just let it be and try not to go crazy with the details. I hope that all turns out good and that I don't go CRAZY!!! Wish me luck on my new adventure!
